If you don’t know by now, my name is Ravin and my family and I just relocated from Michigan to North Carolina. With relocation comes a lot of work. Packing, cleaning, moving, cleaning, unpacking, organizing, and finally (the fun part) REDECORATING! I will be creating blog posts for every space in our home as a “big reveal” that I’m hoping can serve as inspiration, as well as help with some big finds you may be looking for. The first reveal, and in my opinion the biggest reveal, is the great room in our new home. I will be linking all my sources for every item that I can find online 🙂

Without further ado, let’s jump into it!

In the beginning stages we had flat white walls, which were the absolute bane to my existence. Anything, absolutely EVERYTHING shows up on flat white walls. And to make matters worse, you can’t clean them 😑 Well actually towards the end we found out you can….1 word… Windex. Anyway, this is what it looked like.

Antoine and I were measuring to make sure the couch would fit

I’ve never chosen the paint color for an entire house before but I realize just how important it is. I was worried, mainly because paint is expensive and sometimes depending on the color it looks different on the walls. I didn’t want to mess up or take lightly such a big investment. However, In the end I went with Sherwin Williams paint colors: Cyberspace (darker gray) and Reflection (lighter gray). And I am so happy with how it turned out!

In our home I decided to go with an industrial vibe meaning metals, abstract light fixtures, darker hues, all the good stuff! My inspiration for this room all started with the center table and sofa table. Both are unfortunately discontinued and no longer available.

I then knew I wanted a comfy couch. After sitting, standing, sitting, standing, and sitting and standing on numerous couches, we landed on the Pottery Barn PB Comfort Square Arm Upholstered Couch with Memory Foam Cushions in the color Silver Taupe.

All other large pieces of furniture were purchased from Wayfair. This includes: the Credenza (discontinued), Beige Chairs, Black Bench, and 84″ Faux Tree.

To decorate the sofa table, I order some nice hard back books from Etsy shop – Elements By Amber and completed it with the Home sign and picnic baskets in the large square size (discontinued).

We created our picture wall via Frameiteasy.com. We used an art size of 16″x20″ and frame size 18″x22″ in the color Oak to match our kitchen cabinets. And although you can’t see it in the picture, on our ledge overlooking the garage and basement doors we have 2 jack sculptures.

I can’t forget about the little guys that make a big impact! 20″ Light blue pillows from Etsy Shop – Shop Little Design Co, 20″ Black and White Ombre pillows from Etsy Shop – Jules and Tone, Light Blue Throw Blanket (discontinued), Light Blue Pillow (discontinued) and here’s a similar floor lamp (discontinued). The fireplace small lantern and large lantern both came from Target.

The living room chandelier is from Houzz! Fast shipping, I would recommend them all day everyday. However, my eat in kitchen chandelier is from Wayfair. It’s on closeout sale so if you want it, you better get it!! To finish off my eat in kitchen is the beautiful stainless steel table, gray area rug (5×7) and acrylic Ikea chairs. WOAH!! I almost forgot about Kavin’s highchair(discontinued)!! Shame on me 🙂

The before of our kitchen seemed dark and just meh. To change this, we opted to add a light blue glass subway tile. Absolutely LOVE how it turned out. Just that simple change made all the difference. Word of caution: if you plan to get glass tile work, make sure to invest in someone who has experience with glass to avoid a messy, wasteful job in the end.

Lastly, I’m not one for a lot of clutter on the counters so I stick to light decor. Our 1 gallon decorative storage jars were just the right touch, along with the salt lamp, and butcher cutting board. I also really like how neat and organized our soap dispenser helps everything to look.

But all in all, that’s the conclusion of our great room tour! I really hope you enjoyed. I apologize in advance, unfortunately due to purchasing many of our decor items from Home Goods I wasn’t able to find them all. But I will continue to find and link similar items for you all till the end of my days 😆
